Two years ago I was in a little town called Baad Laasphe down in Sauerland, still jet-lagged I tried to muster the energy to interact with a brand new group of people who would eventually become my exchange support group, I tried to stay awake through the German lessons that eventually helped me little but instilled in me a deep love for the German language from the very beginning, and I stalked the people I'd eventually live a year with but had not yet met in person. I was nervous, excited, happy, and eager.
I went through my year in Germany as an exchange student, the more general aspects of which are chronicled in this blog and I've spent a year back in sunny South Florida with my family and friends as I finished school.
Ever since my return I've been itching to get back into the global community, thankfully I have found ways to do that I've immersed myself into the world of hospitality and work at a hotel where I can use my language abilities frequently. I've volunteered for CIEE the organization that facilitatedmy own exchange, I've gone to Mexico and I frequently stalk the web for my next internatinal adventure.
Recently I've decided that I miss my blog so i've promised myself to continue it.
I'll document my experiences at the Honors College at FIU and all other exciting and new aspects of my life, in keeping with the original nature of this blog I will also keep everyone posted on all things CBYX/German and being an ex-exchange student.
